Backpacking Essentials

The exhilaration of the great outdoors is an unmatched experience. The spirit of curiosity and adventure can drive people to take themselves to the most unexpected of places and the most secluded of gems. To maximize such getaways, vacationers would always keep themselves packed and prepared with the tools they need. If the vigor lies inside of you right now, you have come to the right place!

In today’s blog entry, we will be detailing you with the stuff you must have to make your adventure safe, memorable, and, of course, fun.

GO-Pro

Although such escapades don’t last for eternity, we capture them with tools to relive those joyous memories. While you are on-the-go, capture those heart-racing and spine-tingling moments with a Go-Pro camera, capable of capturing high-definition imagery all in a pocket-sized, portable device. Take the GOPRO CHDHZ-201-RW Max Camera, for instance, whose best quality is its audio-visual versatility with its three cameras in one. Get a 360-degree view of your incredible surroundings or capture those hair-raising thrills in HERO-style video. To top it all off, this GOPRO camera also possesses waterproof qualities, ensuring that you can also grasp the action even with the rapids, tides, and tempests!

Compass

Adventurers would often tell you that the best places to explore are at the roads less traveled (figuratively, that is). While it is fun to travel into the undiscovered, getting lost should be the last thing you want to experience. Therefore, carrying a compass with you is always a prerequisite. With today’s modern technology, compasses are now included in devices such as fitness watches and mobile phones.

Still, a traditional compass may be the most preferred type for outdoor activities, and, as such, it is essential to learn how to use one. Fortunately, and contrary to popular belief, compasses are easy and simple to utilize.

One important factor to remember is that the magnetic arrow (typically colored red) always points to the north. Find the north by laying the compass flat on the palm of your hand and turn your whole body until you face north, as indicated by the compass’s arrow. Afterwards, determine which direction you have to go by looking at the dial labeled in degrees. If you’re going east, for example, turn the dial until the arrow points east, labeled E. Move your body again until the magnetic red arrow points north, labeled N. That way, you will be able to face E.

Drones

It’s one thing to immerse yourself in paradise from the ground, but what if you can take that to the next level (literally). Look at where you are from the skies above with a high-quality camera drone. Here at AllHome, we have DJI drones available in stock, a leading international brand of drone technology. Among the models we possess include DJI Mavic Mini Drone Flycam Quadcopter. With its lightweight and portable size, this model is also capable of capturing images and videos in 2.7K high definition while hovering at a maximum altitude of 3 kilometers.

But, prior to acquiring a drone, it is important to know the basics of proper usage and care. You will get to know more of this in a separate article coming soon.

Fitness Watch

Voyaging into the wilderness is an excellent way of caring and improving your mind, body, and soul. To ensure that you are caring for your health on the journey, get yourself a fitness band, an empirical way to keep your physique in check.

What each band measures may depend on the model and brand, but, in general, you need to keep an eye on two indicators: number of footsteps and heartbeat rate.

As heavy physical exercise isn’t attainable for everybody, simple actions such as walking or running are more achievable forms of activity, and, on average, you would need to perform between 6,000 and 8,000 steps a day. When the band’s wearer is idle for a considerably long period, it would typically notify them through a vibration. In the long and winding road of the outdoors, however, that may not be a problem. In fact, you can even challenge yourself with the number of steps you can take!

But too much exertion on the body will, of course, cause more harm than benefit, and one way to track this is to see the speed of your heartbeats. For an adult, the average heartbeat should be between 60 to 100 beats per minute. Anywhere above this is an indicator that your body may be tiring itself, so it would be best to halt for a while, sit, and relax while you can still enjoy the view.

And, now that everything is in your backpack, it is time to set out for the great wilderness that lies ahead of you. Keep yourself safe and may you find the peace and excitement that will feed your wanderlust soul.
