The Ultimate Essential Oil Guide

	 The Ultimate Essential Oil Guide

Essential oils have been used by different cultures for over hundreds of years and almost impossible to date back when it actually started.

Some cultures used essential oils for different purposes. An example of these are: the Egyptians and Indians. As per recorded history dating back to the 4500 BCE, Egyptians used essential oils to purify and preserve the bodies of their mummies. Another example is how Indians used essential oils mainly for traditional medicine and healing elixirs.

Fast forward to today, we now have a lot of options because of different discoveries and more ways to extract oils. In today’s world, we don’t really use essential oils for mummies anymore but we can use it to sleep like one.

With so many choices of essential oils and options available it’s hard to know where to start with choosing. Questions arise from, what’s good to be used in a diffuser? What can be used for relaxation or instant jolt of energy? Can I apply it to my skin? These are just some frequently asked questions and we at Allhome are here to answer that. This is our basic and definitive guide to essential oils.

Before we start, it’s important to take note that essential oils are not to be ingested.

Diluting essential oils

Pure essential oil is more effective when diluted in a carrier oil. These carrier oils are usually neutral and act as base for your essential oil. Examples are coconut and jojoba oil. A good rule of thumb is six drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil.
